The researchers acknowledge, though, that these tests can never be 100% accurate.



What they detect are emotions, such as distress, fear or distrust, and not the act of lying itself. Fear can sometimes be the fear of not being believed rather than the fear of being caught.

It should immediately be put to use in Washington D.C and used on every politician from the President on down every time they open their mouths.

An instrument that might catch some of the BS that our government officials sprout...

The 90% that get caught are not the ones to worry about. The sociopaths don't have the same brain circuitry, don't have fear in the same way, and can convince themselves that the lie they tell is true. If you have been around a few, they really are amazing. (I'm not talking politicians, though I suspect a few of them qualify)
