are shows like jersey shore, bad girl club, bridezilla, etc ruining this society ?

is teaching young girls and women that its ok to be a hookers, strippers, pole dancers,ok?

that 's its ok to be like Kim kardarisan, Rihanna, etc - (no intergrity, sleep with hundreds of men)

are we teaching them that its o.k to have little self worth, low self esteem, and major selfishness issue.....

are we doom ? if this continues and would u want this for your daughter?

Caught a few Bridezilla episodes. I flat out told my wife that if she had behaved like that at all I would have changed all the locks on my home and called off the wedding and the relationship. Such behavior goes on because they aren't held accountable for their behavior. In some cases, the family and friends are enabling such behavior. I was happy with one Bridezilla groom who got fed up during the reception and threw his ring at her and told her he's filing for an annulment then let her know why in great detail. For the first time he acted like a man and stand up for himself and his family instead of her doormat.

Well first off your precious daughter needs to realize it is TV (for entertainment) and not reality. If she does not realize this then you need to sit her down.

In some cases, the shows can act as an example of how NOT to behave.

However, for the majority of impressionable young idiots we've seen emulate the likes of Paris Hilton, Kardashians etc.

I mean, dear god...sex tapes were actually "en vougue" for a while because they launched both Hilton and Kardashian into their "fame". (puke) Heck, by many accounts those were intentionally released...translation....they did porn to get famous.

South Park did a brutal satire of this very topic with an episode about Paris Hilton coming to town and all the girls dressing and acting like her and one girl bucking the peer pressure.

Yeaaaaaah......um, kids are pretty impressionable. I think that if you don't like the message, you don't let them watch it. Telling them it's just entertainment and thinking they won't soak some of it up is unlikely to be effective IMO.

You hit the nail on the head with this post. Kudos !

Our young children are being groomed to be sexual perannahs by not holding their sexuality as something very personal, sacred, and protected from would-be Vultures . The Mass Media has not only destroyed the innocense of our children , but they are directly responsible for constantly enticing them away from sound moral standards, values, and good principles to live life according to in exchange for a microwave mindset of idolizing Fun and immoral pleasure pursuits. It is sickening to see young girls in particular swept away by the seas of promoted sexual immorality by the likes of Ms. Madonna who America has made into a $600,000,000 empire leaving our Young People in the wake of sexual hedonism destroying them emotionally and oftentimes physically thru STD contraction for life (1 in 6 middle schoolers have at least one STD with over 65,000,000 adult Americans carrying 1 or more of the 39 circulating STD's with 15,000,000 new cases added per year) ---- an aweful legacy the Pop-Divas are leaving for their beloved America who has made them filthy rich as compensation by ill-gotton gain .

It will get worse . Much worse.

these shows are guilty pleasures, the one I watch out of the bunch you mentioned is 'bridezillas.' IMO, these shows continue to 'lessen' the value of women to men. I am from NJ and most people from here hate that show. Not saying America thought NJ was some virginal haven, but since the show came out, I notice more and more people seem to think it's okay/acceptable to downgrade NJ women as a whole as drunk sl*ts or whatever snookie is doing. I swear it's directly related to that show becoming popular. The reality is there are "Snookies" in every city of the country. Men encourage and even want women to behave this way and then wag their fingers about them the day after they spend the night.

Nobody watches UFC or American Choppers and applies those violent type lifestyles depicted on the shows to the men IRL, but they are always at the ready to compare a girl who is out with her gf's at the club to "strippers, hookers, Kardashians," etc. Male based reality shows are portrayed mostly in a positive light "Pawn Stars," "The Deadliest Catch," etc. but the women based reality shows focus on women's sexuality and how "uneducated/clueless" they are. Everyone know men control the TV networks and this is just a reflection of how they see themselves as poised, brave and self respecting and the women in this country/world as harlots and gold diggers.

These shows are absolute trash and so are the people on them. I don't have kids, but if I did I would never let them watch any of that garbage.

Its all part of the great dumbing down of America by making them Idols and rewarding them with healthy financial empires out of the grossly immoral and Godless antics they promote .
