I'm nearly 20 and I feel myself growing angrier about everything by the day. Is this normal?

In general, no. A lot of times anger comes from being upset about stuff that is beyond your control. You need to put your focus on things you CAN control, and leave the other stuff alone.

What are you angry about?

You might want to try doing this meditation regularly a few times a week to see if it helps:

www.revolutionofspirit.com

I've been doing it for 3 or 4 times a week for a year now and I really notice a difference in how I feel. It's not an instant miracle cure, but the benefits definitely do accrue.

I also recommend reading and implementing the following 2 books in your life:

The How of Happiness by Sonja Lyubomirsky

and

Happier by Tal Ben Shahar

Both books are based on actual scientifically conducted research regarding what actually works. (Oh, and by the way, regular meditation was one of the methods mentioned in The How of Happiness that works)

Well at age 20 you are thrust out into the real world and have a bit of "school of hard knocks" to go through. But things get better once you get the hang of things.

It is not "normal" but it sure gets to you. Not getting older. Being tired of idiots, morons, and so on and so on.

for some reason, I thought you meant growing older. You haven't even started growing older. Get out and do something, you'll get over it.

OP, you're at prime age for anger. I predict in your case it will gradually subside as you get older but might return in very old age.

Well I would hope to head in the opposite direction as I age and I think I am...

But what are you so angry about? Past experiences?

As more and more of our freedoms and hard earned income are taken away by the government I think it is a normal reaction to be angry

I think it is going to become the new normal barring a drastic change. I'm 24 and since I have turned 18, things have gotten more up by the day. I cannot see a light at the end of tunnel nor do I believe there will be one.
