Why does it seem like controlling people who have to have everything their way, are such a dime a dozen these days? Was it always like that or am I just noticing it now? I'm all for doing things the way individuals want to do them, I'm more of a live and let live type of person but it seems like everybody around me (or most people anyway) have to control everybody else and be the "man in charge" in all situations. I'll never understand that attitude it's a huge turnoff for me.

We're here because there are so many of you lost, clueless souls out there. Like a sheep dog, we have to tell you what to do and where to go. It's a thankless job, but somebody has to do it.

There are a million ways for a person to get to control issues. No, this is not a new problem. It is pretty obvious that you are not a female. We have been "controlled" for thousands of years.

Control is the name of the survival game. Back in the old caveman days, those who had control survived. We still live with that instinct.

Most of the smart, high IQ people I know are all control freaks.

Im not imo a control freak but ive done things several different ways, I know which way works best for the situation, and thats the way I suggest that it be done. You dont HAVE to do it that way but dont get mad when I say "I told you so".

I find many control freaks are bossy insecure beings.Or impatient with others and won't tolerate flaws.

Insecurity + OCD. Be in control, or lose control. That's not the case, but that's how they see things.

They are also not used to people standing up to them. The problem with control freaks is they sweat the small stuff too much and that can lead to large amounts of inefficiency and terrible allocation(s) of time and resources.

Some people do need to be told what to do, or even want to be told what to do, or things won't get done. In that instance, OK, but not when you have highly experienced people who don't need to be told what to do.

LOL I saw a T-shirt once that said, "I'm not bossy. I just have better ideas."

Oh, and as to the why part: there's always been red tape. It's nothing new.
