"Female" is a scientific term that refers to the sex of a species that is capable of producing children. The term "woman" refers specifically to human beings, while "female" could refer to any species. That alone is dehumanizing.
The primary use of the term "female" is as an adjective. When you call a woman "a female," you're deleting the term "human." It reduces a woman to her reproductive parts and function. Literally dehumanizing.
Most of the terms used for gender are BOTH common - ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, etc. But guys really never refer to each other as "males." As in ... "All these males in here getting in my way ..."
The fact that women almost never refer to each other this way is the first clue that it's meant by many to be derisive.
All these females in here getting offended by the term "females" is really triggering me.
I feel triggered when someone's about to state something and then abruptly stops.
"Omg, I have to tell you something, but I'll tell you later."
Just spit it out! In the time they wasted saying they have to tell me something but can't possibly say it right then but will tell me later, they could've just said the actual thing.
I know several people who do this constantly, making a big drama, hype and build up and then when finally when the thing is revealed, it's nothing much at all.

There are more females in the class than males. (The subject in this case, humans, is inferred by the reader.) ‘Female’ may be used as a noun or an adjective. It’s not grammatically incorrect; but I see how it is a ‘trigger’ for you (though I sometimes think people look for things to get offended about).

Aw, look how blithely you tossed in that parenthetical blow-off. So dismissive and care-free at the same time! Well I can see how some people would be deliberately obtuse about something like this also.
You keep offering benign examples that don't demonstrate the context in which the use of this term is offensive. Pansy is a noun too, but I bet you wouldn't be unable to "see it" if I called you one.
. . . doing things to irritate or ‘get a reaction’ out of each other doesn’t necessarily scream ‘it’s bliss’ - lol.

Good point. It's not blissful to be targeted by someone who is clearly trying to "get a reaction."
Gosh, so many. But, listening to politicians lately - it really irritates me when they start out an answer with "Look..." for some reason that sounds really defensive and at the same time it's offensive, as if you don't understand the subject at hand.
I agree with this one. It really sounds aggressive to me.

I didn’t dismiss it; I actually said I understood how you see it (though I don’t agree). You were too busy flying off the handle and throwing down insults (which proves my previous point about looking for something to get offended about).
There is a difference between "I understand how you see it..." and "I understand how it can be a - quote trigger end quote - for you."
