Hello All!
My 2 nephews will be coming for a visit in November they are 27 & 29. They wanted to know where they could go for some night-life. I just bought my house in North Port last year (snowbird- I will be returning in 25 days!) therefore working on the house kept me at Homedepot and Lowes 8-). I have been told Sarasota offers much more in terms of night-life is this true? I planned on going kayaking and beach trips during the day any other suggestions? I also heard that Applebee's near my Homedepot has Dj's on Fri & Sat nights going to check on that when I return - after all it is only a walk across the parking lot 8-)

P.S It has been a while since I have been on this site- I just noticed that Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte got there own section woohoo!! (I had posted this in Sarasota/Brandenton)

Default No cable at home

Will be on an antenna for my home TV reception. Being a Boston transplant, where could I go to see a Patriots game and have some pub grub, this Fall?

Not much in North Port for night life. Have to go to Port Charlotte. Look at the web sites. They have bands, wing nites, trivia contests, karaoke, etc.
Gatorz Bar and Grill - Gatorz Bar and Grill | Punta gorda FL - Home
Chubbyz 2 Tavern - Tavern, wings, beer, sandwiches, wine. Port Charlotte, Florida. - Home
Boomers - » Maintenance Mode

If you like a sports bar go to
Goal Post - John Hall's Goal Post Grill & Sports Bar - Steaks, Ribs & Wings - Port Charlotte, FL
Joe Cracker -Home Page

If you want to go to a comedy club there is one in Port Charlotte called Visani's. We go for dinner and stay for the comedy show. Their food is home made and good. Home

These would all be closer than going up to Sarasota.

We always liked the Tiki Bar behind the Coral Rock restaurant on Hwy 41. But I just read the Coral Rock is closed, so I'm guessing the bar is too. VERY sad, we really liked that place, it was a rare location to hear live music. Really bummed about that.

Tiki bar at the sheridan in PG between the US41 bridges. Awesome setting on the water. Slip Knot in PG is fun. Stump Pass Grill in Englewood is a large outdoor tiki place, as is Flounders next to the roundabout on Englewood Beach. Gasparilla Grill in Placida (at the marina).

Agreed...Joe Cracker is Patriots headquarters for Charlotte County.
As for the OP's nephews...teach to fish and get a good nights sleep.
They'll live longer, eat better and catch safer catches than in the bars!
