I need fertilizer and seed potatoes. Where might I find his type of supplies?

There is a "store" over on Industrial near Sam's .... I think their fertilizer is in gold lined bags ..LOL. They don't have much and what they do have is REALLY high dollar. Like over $1500/ton for $250/ton fertilizer. Is there a place that local growers might go?

Thanks

There is a John Deere store at 1177 Enterprise Drive. Don't know if that's where you are referring to as being expensive. If so, there is also a Tractor Supply store out at 1185 Kings Highway you may want to check out.

Thanks ... yep, that is the place on Enterprise. I have never seen fertilizer so expensive.

I will call Tractor Supply ... mostly looking for seed potato source. Seems cooperative extension has no clue about this stuff here ...

Try Crossties Farm and Garden in Punta Gorda...(941) 575-0909

Not sure if they have what you need but I have bought bulk stuff there years ago.

I have used this place too. They do have more bulk stuff than a regular store. Lot of farm supplies.

It is located on 17 just before the big curve at the intersection of Washington Loop and 17 on your left as you go North.

The only "real" Ag store I've found is Growers Supply (I think that's the name) in Lake Alfred - it's on the curve on the left hand side as you're going out of town. Long drive, but it's the only place I could find Ammonium Sulfate and Super Phosphate. As I recall, each was 40 bucks or so for a 50# bag, but that was a year ago.

Second thought, maybe it's Wauchula? In either case, you can't miss it - fertilizer plants kind of stick out if you know what one looks like.

So I guess if there is ever a PG/PC city-data Pot-Luck get-together you'll be bringing the mashed potatoes?
