Okay, what’s the real cost per day to run a brand new heat pump to heat a pool to a reasonable temperature in Florida “winter”?

Depends on several things, ie:

Size of pool?
How much sun does it get? / morning sun or afternoon sun?
What temp is it heating it to?
Do you keep it covered between uses?

best guess is a range - $50-150 a month as an average

Cage or no cage is another variable. For us it seems once AC goes off and heater goes on electric bill runs about the same. So probably $100 is an average guess

Now you have me trying to do math. Lets see 4 hours a day, 30 days a month= 120 /an uneducated guess would be about a buck an hour.

Okay, I now have evidence about the cost to run a pool heater... Now, since the summer we have installed low voltage exterior lighting across the entire front, 2 fixtures out back and 2 more fixtures on the mailbox. Our FPL bill is about $20 higher than it was in the summer months. So, I can’t really tell what the pool heater cost is, but it can’t be all that significant. Pool is set on 84 and circulation runs 8 hours a day every day. Exterior lighting comes on at sunset until 1:00 AM every day.
