YMMD But I find it hard on feet and knees or whatever touches it. I dont like the looks of it and it collects dirt and "stuff" plants will establish a foothold for awhile anyway. It can begin to crumble as the "adhesive" is degraded by UV.. Yes you will find lots of people removing it. "I Think" it was cheaper to install? It dates your house IMHO..

Did my 40 X 12 patio myself. Two weeks later with electric demo hammer and I was done. What a chore. It can be done but its work. Some will come up easy just to tease you. Most will be a job. The leftover tonnage of stone can be an issue to get rid of also. Its possible and doable just dont kid yourself, its work.

MardiGras,
Thanks for the tip. I just spoke to Jim at Dust Hogz and they seem like the right guys for the job. I'll report back.
Thanks again.

MartyGras,
Just reporting back. Jim and the crew at Dust Hogz did a great job. They have this insane vacuum system on all their chipping hammers and in the bins so that the work is essentially dust free. It was loud, though.

Anyway, they did a great job and if someone needs tile or river rock removed I can highly recommend them.

I had a customer that used Fulton Pools to remove the river rock and they replaced it with new river rock. I was told by a couple of different pool companies that the product is coming back again.

I can see bell bottoms coming back, and beards are definitely back (or have they gone back out?)...but, river rock? That's like the flu coming back...something you just don't want to see.
