Hey, all. I am looking for a handyman. As with any service company, you can get cheap bad service, expensive bad service, and reasonably priced good service. Thing is, you call someone on Craigslist or a number on a truck, you never know what you are getting. And don't get me started on Angie's List-big complaints and lack of returned calls from 'highly-rated service providers'.

So, anyone got a good handyman you would recommend?

Thanks in advance.

I'll be watching this closely since we are in need of one also.

The good ones are booked solid. Very hard to find for doing work on properties around here. Also, some won't return your calls because they are too busy and can't handle more work or your job may be too small or something they don't do. Try the Directory with the Charlotte DeSoto Building Industry Association - Charlotte Desoto Building Industry Association - CDBIA

I have offered this previously:

Scott lives in PG and 'came with the house'. He did work for original and previous owners. Does good work (just have to tell him what you want), lets you know what he is not good at (appliances, HVAC), reasonable, cleans up when done...

Reliable, but kind of on his own schedule which is OK with us since we are not full-timers... Stuff is done by the time we come back down. I just asked him if he is 'taking on new clients', waiting to hear back...

PM me for contact info. Mike

Dave from Common Sense Home Services just repaired a ceiling for me, installed ceramic tile and did misc repairs for my sister, very pleased. Fair prices, prompt service and good work, no job too small. 239-410-0202. So far, so good.

I have used Handy Vets - based in Cape Coral. They will come up to Punta Gorda and PC. I found them on Angie's list - they have an A rating with 175 reviews. I have found them to be very professional and reasonably priced. They train and employ honorably discharged veterans for Handyman and Construction type services and are a licensed general contractor.

The info is:
Craig Blume (Owner)
2710 Del Prado Blvd
Unit #2-101
Cape Coral, FL 33904
