Does anyone know what they are doing on the right side of I-540 at the I-40 west exit. They are clearing some trees on the right side. Any chance this would be for a second lane for that exit?

John

I can;t figure out why they cleared so much, then took such a long break they had to blow seed and straw. I wonder if they met up with some unexpected soil conditions or something?

There was a pretty bad accident this morning next to the ramp from Aviation onto I-540, where it joins the onramp lane for I-40. I was driving past on my way to the 54 exit and there were still people weaving & cramming into the I-40 ramp lane.

This is good news, they really needed to do something about that. The accident that occurred this morning must've happened right in front of me because I could still smell it and the police hadn't arrived yet. Cars behind me were even pulling off to the side of the road to stop and help. I don't know what caused the wreck but I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone going 80 mph in the left lane who cut across the other lanes to try and merge into the line of cars for I-40. I see this happen all too often and am surprised there aren't more accidents. Or there's the people who instead of getting into the back of line, stop in the middle of the interstate and sit there until they are able to merge into the line. People, you can't stop in the middle of an interstate!

I think there is a lake right there so they don't want the clay to runoff into the lake when it rains? They always clear off a little extra it seems.
