Hi,

Looking for current/recent feedback on these two communities. Would be moving with four kids... We're specifically looking for pool communities.

Any feedback good/bad is appreciated!

Thanks.

My friends have lived there for a few years...about to have their first kid. It is more of an older aged neighborhood but great if you love golf! I would do Preserve over GC.

We use to live in the Preserve. Fantastic kids friendly neighborhood! Social aspect can't be beat but the commute to things was another issue although it isn't bad if you work in RTP. Lots of families with kids of all age ranges, great pool that isn't crowded and a great childrens social committee.

I would choose Preserve over GC anyday if you have children.

We are in the process of looking too and are going back to look at both neighborhoods again next weekend.

Preserve at Lake Jordan - Currently my favorite, but it really is 15 minutes from the closest grocery store and probably farther from anything else. The club is semi private but has a nice community feel. The lots are BEAUTIFUL. And there seems to be a real neighborhood feel, but as one poster commented to me - it might be because once you get home, that really is your social life since you are so far removed from the outside world. Another plus is the house prices are great (and dropping) and Jordan Lake is just outside the neighborhood.

Governers Club - There is no doubt it is beautful, period. But I believe we will rule it out because honestly we are looking in the 6-700k and that neighborhood had those prices in the back and mansions up front. I want to stop working some day and seeing the mansions everyday will just make me never slow down. Very hilly streets and I got car sick driving through. It's a gated community so if you like that, I would check it out.

Thank you so much for all of your replies. We visited both communities this weekend, and while we liked them, both are probably too far out for us.

I agree with many posters here that I would choose Preserve over GC. It was gorgeous.

cantwaitfornc -- I bet we saw some of the same homes this weekend! We're in the same price range. The last house we saw in the Preserve was so gorgeous I just wanted to move right in. I hope you see it if you are thinking of buying there. Good luck!
