Brought back memories Saturnfan-grew up in a NYC project myself called Pomonock-the Jewel of Jewel Ave they used to call it-we never had a/c only big box fans and shut off all the lights and actually sat outside with our neighbors on lawn chairs and chatted for hours-best part was that Mr.Softee truck at 10:00 each night-we were all lined up waiting for it

Lived in NY for over 20 years ... hate the cold .... love the heat, because there will always be A/C and I am not in construction so it really does not bother me at all; besides I grew up in the Caribbean anyway. Drank rum and coconut water, laid out unconscious in a hammock to pass the time ... ROFL

I have the same memories bekindtoanimals. I forgot about the lawn charis. I still see Mr. Softee everyday that I'm here and I love the music. Brings back a simple but fun time.

The hottest day I ever spent was in NC, 107 in Goldsboro. There was no such thing as heat index back then, so no,
'twernt that. Freaky hot. But like some folks ssaid, I can just stay inside. When it is bone-jarring cold, where you gonna go?
I believe it though when people say I can always put on more clothes, but when it is hot you only have so far to go. But give
me hot for awhile over that any day. But hey, I grew up in NO, I KNOW hot and muggy, and this ain't it.

Hate the heat. Moved up from Florida a decade ago thinking it would be cooler here. But no. At least there's four months or so when it isn't so bad. Thing is, you can always bundle up against the cold, but with heat, there's a legal limit to how many clothes you can discard before you get arrested.

I'd just like to point out that it's 100 degrees in Philly today (same yesterday, same tomorrow). This seems to be a bad summer all over.

Mid 90s in upstate NY all week and it's already been a warm, humid season....do not like the mugginess at all as the point of summer is so you can enjoy being outdoors not locked up in your ac'd house looking out....

Sorry...weather-bound whether it's too cold or too hot is not enjoyable IMHO...as someone said, perfect weather is San Diego...wish I'd been watching closer 30 years ago...

This weekend: 80s and sunny...now that's nice....

Oh and an another warmup to follow

Pool, shade and lakeside in that order....
