Just relocated and looking for a good gastroenterologist for an adult. Willing to travel into Raleigh, but prefer a Garner area practice. I have checked earlier (recent) posts but no one seems to have any suggestions. Can anyone out there help me? Thank you!

There is an outfit that I go to: Home-Wake Gastroenterology. I use Dr. Kaplan but heard Dr. Barish (sp?) is also good.

I also go to Kaplan and have been happy although my issues are pretty routine and not out of the ordinary.

Default Do not recommend...

Kaplan. I was in health care for 25 years (Iam an RN), so I am not ignorant of medical issues. I went to this guy for one problem. He could not figure out what it was so he started going off on a wild tangent tracing my low hematocrit and hemoglobin (which I have had all my life), recommending test after test which were entirely unrelated to my symptoms. I did not go back. I also worked at Rex and can recommend no one there. I am still looking for a halfway intelligent Gi guy (or gal) myself!

I'm also in healthcare and recommend Aaron Woofter, MD in Raleigh. He is an excellent clinician.
