We actually have gotten some very nice furniture thorugh JC Penney.
Only thing is you may have to wait a bit for it to be shipped to the store & delivered.

We also bought some furniture from Riverview Gallery (on N. Roxboro Rd in Durham) right after we moved into the house. Prices were a bit on the high side, but quality pieces, friendly staff & they did a good job on delivery. I'd shop there again.

Call Susan at Expressions Custom Furniture 781-5444, they have great options and offer personal service. Her and her husband have owned the franchise for years, I used to be their bookkeeper. It's on Glenwood near the Ebenezer Church Road intersection.

Bullucks in Rocky Mount have a good selection and good prices. Ask for Vivian. She has helped me with many purchases. Green Front in Raleigh is also good with prices and service.

There is a leather furniture store to the right of the 'rooms to go' store on Glenwood in Raleigh.

I wandered in last september or so when I was searching for a leather chair. They had beautiful, buttery leather things. Just gorgeous. A bit too high end for me and my kids and cats/dogs...so I just enjoyed seeing and sitting in them.

No idea of the name, but if you are facing the rooms-to-go store, it is in a small building to your right. The sales lady I spoke with appeared to be more knowledgeable than the other salespersons in any of the other stores I entered on Glenwood.

But that is a fun trip - just go up and down glenwood and pop into every furniture store - especially if you are looking for something specific. The variety is terrific. and there are just a lot of choices at lots of price ranges!

note: the stretch of glenwood ave I am talking about is between 440/crabtree mall & 540
