We are moving to the fayetteville area and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good places to look for homes. We are wanting to rent a home. Also any good school suggestions, public, private or charter? We can be anywhere within 30 minutes of the base I would say. Thanks for your help

I'm from there - my dad is a Realtor and the past president of their HBA. The Jack Britt and Terry Sanford school districts are the best in the area. Village Christian is the best private school. Also may want to try Anderson Creek. It's out in Spring Lake, but only 10 minutes from base. AMAZING neighborhood and lots of rentals in all kinds of price ranges.

Check out the Anderson Creek area. It's in the Spring lake. Also the Carolina Lakes area in Sanford (15-20 minutes) has nice houses for rent and a good school district. I just moved from that area and loved it.

Is it Harnett or Cumberland Schools there? I am interested in information on Harnett County Schools. My hubby may be taking a job at Bragg this summer but I don't want to live in Cumberland County so we are looking at Harnett, Johnston, or Southern Wake County.

If your husband is working on Bragg, then you should consider Harnett County. And yes, I would stay clear of Cumberland County (very high crime).. The Harnett county schools are good. Harnett County has a wonderful suburb feel to it. There is a wonderful gated community called Carolina Lakes. message me if your interested in more info

Yes, it's Harnett County. The schools are great and most of Harnett County is quiet and has less crime than Cumberland County.

You have my condolences.

But, seriously? I'd shoot for Harnett County as well.

The northern part of Cumberland county - North Fayetteville, Linden is an excellent area. We are close to Fort Bragg, in a quiet, country setting and crime is very low up here. Check out Castlebrooke, Hunters Ridge and Pine Valley subdivisions. The schools are top notch - Long Hill and Raleigh Road.
