  • People marvel at your accent and ask when you're from, and you're speaking with a Southern accent
  • The "old-time veterans" of the area who are doling out advice moved here six years ago
  • Those same "old-time NCers" are telling anecdotes on how life here used to be so different
  • You can find fantastic Italian, Vietnamese, Lebanese, and Japanese food, but need to drive out to "the sticks" to get a good plate of BBQ
  • You avoid the country roads and take the highway because you'll spend less time sitting in traffic
  • The word "Exhilarama" means something to you
  • People in cars used to wave with five fingers, and now they only wave with one
  • You're terrified of going to Durham
  • There's a week during spring and a week during fall when you won't hear anyone complaining that the weather is going to kill them
  • Cary's border expands faster than you can out-drive it

Have to go, but that will get a ball rolling. Hopefully not rolling off the first page.

When nobody uses their turn signals for turns or lane changes, I know I'm back home.

When people think it is courteous to hold up ten people in line to let out one while the light is green. You are wrong.
