Interesting... that's a tactic used before on Raleigh stations that change format.
Wouldn't be surprised if it is 100.7 the Rodeo River come 12/27.

Hope I'm wrong.

I listened to The River more than all the other stations put together as I liked their classic rock format, but had also noted their shift. It really makes me glad my CD player can read MP3s!
Check out Radio 96.1, previously 96 Rock. They've just switched their format to pick up the classic rock gap left by The River.

Yes - they did.... except there are no DJs now. The new format really stinks. Maybe we'll be lucky and 100.7 will change their format to fill the gap left by the corporate foolishness of 96.1.

I'm giving 96.1 a chance and actually am starting to enjoy it.

Yeah, this seems to be the consensus at the moment. Personally, I like the change and the new direction it's taking. If there's one thing that's consistent about the radio business is that nothing ever stays the same. Of course they'll lose many listeners but they'll also gain some new ones. Same thing happened back in '84 when WQDR the rock station changed over to country, it was a sad day for lovers of that original format. I'd like to see a station around here go back to a "deep tracks" format, emulate XM's Deep Tracks but do it better than they do.
