Today I discovered a new Coffee Shop had opened in North Raleigh. It is located in the Towne North Shopping Center at 8369 Creedmoor Road (Strickland Road Intersection). It is a joint venture between local coffee roaster Joe Van Gogh Coffee out of Hillsborough and Durham's own Locopops called Joe Van Loco. It is located next to Jet's Pizza and Fantastic Sams. I stopped in for a latte today and while it looks like they are still working on decorating the place the are fully operational with the espresso machine and fully stocked with locopops!
Happy to see the local coffee scene continues to grow!
I got an email about this from Loco Pops. Too bad it's nowhere near where I ever am. I hope it does well and it encourages them to expand the concept to other areas.
Two new coffee shops have recently opened in the RTP/Brier Creek area - Eva's Cafe in Morrisville and Koinonia Coffeehouse in Durham.
On a side note, I've tried going to the Java Jive in Cary twice, once in the morning, and this afternoon, and both times they've been closed. Are they normally open or do they have really odd hours?
When Locopops first opened in Durham, I loved it but thought they had about 3 months before they realized they couldnt pay the rent selling $2.00 popsicles, let alone expand....
I wouldn't be surprised if Loco Pops makes most of their money from bulk orders. I've heard of brides having a Loco Pops cart at their wedding and it being served at corporate events around town.
Grrrr - that Jet's pizza makes me angry. Of course they would expand to Raleigh after I left! The square deepdish is how pizza should be made. Highly recommend checking it out.

I had one at Galaxy Cinema in Cary the other day. Such a nice surprise.

Agreed - Those AT&T commercials featuring Jet's are like torture for me.
