it was supposed to be an upscale mall type place at the intersection of 401 and 540 but it never happened. Is it totally gone at this point??? We need a Pottery Barn big time!!! lol

With Triangle Town Center nearby, why would anyone build another mall so close?

Yeah, this is the first I've ever hear of a mall on 401 and 540. Maybe someone confused the Wake Tech campus with a mall? With Triangle Town Center about 1 mile away, and sitting on dozens of vacant shops, no one in their right mind would build a second mall that close.

As of last spring construction was to begin this year. However I haven't seen any signs of activity yet.

I don't think it's going to be a mall, but rather a mixed-use development (live, work, play). Wasn't this land an old farm that Wake County proposed building a park on? I may be thinking of another tract.

Being from Louisburg, I hope the US401 corridor is developed in an attractive tree-filled manor. Rolesville could have seized an opportunity to build a little compact grid of streets that would facilitate a walkable lifestyle, however I fear that monstrous subdivisions will continue to remain the status quo.

Yeah, I think you are correct that it won't happen that way.
There's a lot to be said for developing Raleigh's suburbs in a "small town" model rather cul-de-sac suburbia with huge mega-centers. Every shopping opportunity doesn't have to be a regional center.

I just don't see those stores eyeing the area around 401/540 as a possible location maybe in 20 years but not now.
