I had to drive to Durham this evening from Downtown Raleigh by way of I-40. As I travelled west bound on I-40 around 6:20pm I noticed the I-40 eastbound traffic was backed up for miles due to traffic backing up around the exits for the RBC center with all the people going to the 7:00pm Carolina Hurricanes Game.
I was just wondering if the traffic always gets backed up like that when they have home games or was tonight just an extreme case?

I am pretty sure last night will be closer to normal than an 'extreme case'... I have to believe that last night was opening night and it was sold out, so the place was packed... You are certainly going to see a change in traffic on nights there are events at the RBC Center.
