It's time to paint the exterior of the house. I've had horrible experiences with painters in the past.
-I need someone who handpaints (no spray)
-I need a company that focuses on prep work (checking for wood rot, caulking, etc.)
-Someone with rave reviews
I'm not looking for the cheapest company...I know you get what you pay for.
My house is about 2200 sq feet/ 2 story.
I will be the first house to get painted on the street...so who ever paints my house will most likely be asking me who painted mine. They were all built the same time, so I'm sure others will be painting theirs in the next couple of years.
What price range do you think I'm looking at? Keeping same colors and using Sherwin Williams Duration paint.
Russell has done thousands of dollars in painting and staining here at my house. He's a master and very exacting. Not super expensive either.
Based on RDUBiker rec I called Russell among some other folks we have been getting quotes for on our pretty large 7 year old house. What impressed me the most is that his suggestion that we probably did not need to repaint everything and that a good clean was likely all that was needed. I can assure you that's not the message you get from Certapro
I will updated once we have had the work done (we do have some areas that we will want painting no matter what), but initial impressions are this is a very stand-up guy
Scott Allen did my house a few months back and as a contractor I know and have worked with quite a few painters. He is the best but not the cheapest. Showed up on time, cleaned up at the end of each day and was meticulous in the work performed.
I do like some spray for difficult areas. Hand rolling is great for some areas also. I guess most painters are going to do a little of both. They’re able to do a very good job with both methods and the more labor intensive the higher the cost.
