Why is it when I buy a medium cup of coffee at double D in Morrisville it costs me $2.04. when I buy off Glenwood in Raleigh it is $1.93. I am going to call double d and ask but was wondering if there are different taxes or if the stores set their own prices? Thank you

I was also wondering when did Ace hardware close at the intersection of Davis can Morrisville carpenter road?

That Ace closed sometime earlier in the year. I can't remember exactly when. It's been awhile.

DD are franchises, aren't they? That may explain the price difference.

Yes, Dunkin Donuts are franchises. The corp office sets a suggested price, but the individual owner is free to set a coffee price.

Ace closed in October I think. Walmart neighborhood store is going in.

The Target in Morrisville (Park West Village) is pricier than Beaver Creek. Who knows what goes on.

Isn't gas the best example of price discrepancy? Why is gasoline up to $.50 cents a gallon more expensive in some aprts of town than others? A good example is BJs wholesale club. The one at Brier Creek is quite often 10-13 cents per gallon higher than the one at Plantation off Capital. Same gas, delivered by the same trucks from the same wholesaler....different price.

Some part of the price discrepancy might be differences in rent in various parts of town.

For gasoline it probably depends on the market price of the gas on the day the trucks came in to fill the tanks. When prices are changing rapidly the prices can vary all over the place. When prices start to fall, then the guy who was the earliest to refill his tanks ends up having a higher price so nobody wants his gas anymore and it sits longer.

No, that's not it. Gas is always cheaper in certain parts of town than others. New Bern Ave, Capital Blvd, and South Saunders St regularly have the cheapest gas around Raleigh.

Rent, wages and business taxes vary by location, prices will follow. The price of Subway sandwiches varies by about a dollar across Cary, Apex, and Morrisville.

Did you look at the menu and/or your receipt?
I bet they have different prices and maybe even different taxes too.
