Remodeling our bathroom, and would like to keep the 36" x 52" vanity mirror, but have a frame made to match my new vanity. Does anyone in the Triangle do this? We are near Wake Forest.

I did it myself. Very easy. Wood from home depot, some stain and glue. Do a search I posted some pics about 4 years ago.

You can do it yourself relatively easily with standard wall trim - lots of selections at the local home stores. We did it on all of our mirrors and it really makes them look nicer without much cost.

We did painted to match our trim, but you could do wood and then stain it, or something like that.

Framing gives your mirrors a whole new look...If you are not a Do It Yourselfer than try Michaels, they frame but not sure of the pricing...

You can cut the corners of the trim with a miter box or pick up a miter saw from craigslist. I bought the saw and have used it many times over the years. The miter box only allows basic angle cuts, where a saw will allow you more adjustment. It's also a lot faster too.

i think that the YHL tutorials are great for DIY projects. here's a recent one where they framed out their bathroom mirror & showed how to do it in your own home.

Beautiful! What kind of stain did you use?...I like the color and sheen finish. Did you also use a varnish of some sort?

About a year ago, I (well, I was the brains but hubby was the brawn) also put a frame around my bathroom mirror.

I didn't have lots of extra room at the bottom so we had to glue the frame to the existing mirror.

One thing we noticed was...make sure you stain the piece of molding that will be on the mirror as you can see some of the back which is against the mirror!
