Most diners do have hamburgers. I haven't seen many diners around here.
Are you saying Cracker barrel is like a diner and that's what you want?
There are cracker barrels around, but probably not in Raleigh/Cary.

There's one in Morrisville off of Airport Blvd and there's another in Garner. I also have trouble understanding what OP is asking for - how is what you're looking for any different from a casual sit-down restaurant? And are you asking for a diner or a place to get dinner? (Diner and dinner are two completely different things - it'd help to know what you're asking for!)

They want the opposite. Real vegetables, and a home-style meal like meatloaf and mashed potatoes. That's real diner food.

This could all be resolved if OP would clarify (or had written a more cogent post to begin with)

Too bad you dont come to Durham....we have Elmo's Diner AND Cracker Barrel. Do you go to Chapel Hill/Carrborro? Carrborro has a Elmos Diner and Chapel Hill has Breadmans and Mama Dips.

There is a Bob Evans in Brier Creek area, and I am sure you could find a K&W Cafeteria in Raleigh... I heard Watkins Grill was good for the meat and veggie plate type food....

Based on what I think OP wants here would be my recommendations:

Beasley's Chicken + Honey
NOFO at the Pig
The Pit
The Remedy Diner

Sorry, didn't intend to be mean with the alcohol part. It was a joke and I removed it from my post. I seriously thought/think you were from out of the country.

Lucky 32 in Cary
Outback (although they use a lot of salt for seasoning things)
