You pay one way or another. TN may appear cheaper, then you factor in the 9.75% sales tax (on services too).
FL may be great for no income tax, but then look at the property taxes.
Like I said, you pay one way or another.
When we moved from FL to NC our income taxes went up but our property taxes went down (even though our house in NC cost much more than the one in FL). Overall taxes were a bit higher in NC but by less than 2% of income.
Thanks guys! You have been very helpful. Like my husband says, you pay either way. Though him still paying that much tax is the UK is a bit steep but I guess we can fly back there for medical attention if we are having something major done. We have health insurance here but it doesnt cover much. It is a shame that this country allows ppl to go bankrupt over an illness. Florida does feel like living in a sinkhole, to me anyways. We have been renting here for 2 years since moved back from UK. We are so glad we did not buy property here. We would have been stuck here. It is a great place to visit but I have lived here 23 yrs in total and ready to go for good. We really liked NC, the family friendly environment was nice. See two replies here about the US and health care makes me smile too. It is nice to be in conversation with open minded progressive thinkers!
me either, just a little bandage on a massive bloody wound.
