I was out that way yesterday. They are moving along and you can definitely see the impact nearby with construction starting .

Not very creative, IMO. There are already two steakhouses nearby (Outback and Logan's), a local barbeque joint (Carolina Barbeque) and more burger joints than you can shake a stick at (including Char-Grill). These business will probably do all right due to their proximity to the Cabela's and the new hotel, but they'll just be cannibalizing sales from other local restaurants. With a little creativity, they could have found some more new tenants (like the Carolina Ale House that was previously announced) that might give people a reason to visit from out of town.

That's different. More interesting than a barbeque joint from Ohio.

In between Garner and Clayton is the last place I would put a BBQ place from Ohio. It's just too many better options if that's what you want. Shh don't tell but I do love Dickeys BBQ sand/slaw. I feel like a traitor,I didn't want to like it but they have those little fried onion rings and well d**n it they rock. I secretly wish they would move into the old Locked and Loaded spot. So I guess I'm just as guilty as the people opening the one from Ohio.

I've tried the downtown Dickey's a couple of times and their brisket is way too dry for my taste.

I get the pork one. I haven't been to that location but I've tasted the brisket one at another and it was good. Now it did have slaw and sauce on it so it was pretty moist. Did you ever try Holy Smokes cafe before they closed. It was in the old shiny diner. That was the only place I trusted ordering brisket. And the sauce was banging as well.

I stand corrected. I read it online somewhere and maybe I didn't pay enough attention. It was on an article about 5 guys and the others coming to Garner but it could of been about other new places too. Thanks for the correction.
Yep I just found the article and it was the next paragraph. Said it was opening next to Gander Mtn. My bust!!!!

Sorry, but that Char-grill is awful!!! If you don't have time to go to Chili's or Logan's, the only other really close option there for a burger is McDonalds (puhlease!)or Wendy's. I will welcome the Five Guys. I won't go there very often since I'm not supposed to eat much red meat (breast cancer survivor), but I will be grateful for when I do.

Now I would be very happy w/ a Panera or Chipoltle type place! The Moe's there won't let me order off the kids menu, and their regular stuff is either too much for what you get or too bog and the leftovers don't hold up.
