I'm looking for good quality furniture in Raleigh or close by that will deliver. I want to buy a sectional and my price limit is $3,000 and even that is pushing it. I don't want something where the cushions will be smushed and lumpy within 3 years. My last set of furniture i purchased from Big lots in 2007 and it's only now starting to wear out. I guess somewhere after 2007 is when the furniture quality went to crap everywhere and then everything was manufactured overseas. I really wish I could find something with excellent quality such as what I got 7 years ago but I hate that I have to pay triple the price for it.
I live in Raleigh off of Glenwood Ave & Duraleigh. I saw that basset furniture has sectionals where i can customize but there prices are alittle bit higher than what i"d like. They are $3500-4500. I also would prefer the material to be that microfiber velour like stuff. I think it's very comfortable and I love how easy it is to clean. I was thinking about Ashley furniture and home comfort outlet but i've heard bad things about both.
Any guidance would be appreciated I'd love to hear good/bad things about all the stores in the area or close by.
I'm not trying to be snobby, but if you bought your last couch at Big Lots and it lasted 5-6 years, I'd say that you got a really good deal. I admit that I am assuming it cost far less than $3,000. Why not return there?
Otherwise, your best bet is Craigslist for high quality, long lasting furniture at a price point below $3,000.
Personally, I think all furniture should look great for about 8 years, then it's out of style anyway. I'll pay less, expect less quality and replace as needed.
I agree I got a good deal. But the sectionals there are poor quality also. I've read online that most furniture places have gone downhill and are manufactured over sass which is the problem
I meant that I got a good deal 7 years ago. The. Sectionals that they have now are much poorer quality then what I received 7 years ago with my sofa and love seat

Most furniture is junk now.
My previous favorite store, Haverty's, now sells Asian made garbage.
Laz-E-Boy just sold us a nice recliner made in the USA. Might want to look there,
Ever sat on a Mitchell Gold-Bob Williams sofa? Beyond Blu in North Hills is a local showroom for them. They also have an outlet in Hickory. I think $3,000 for one of their sectionals sound about right.
I was going to check out Lazy boy but then I read some bad reviews online that their furniture had also went to crap. Is this nt accurate? I will definitely check them out. I'm starting to think that paying less than $1000 and keeping it for a few years is better than laying $3000 and keeping it for 7 or 8 years. I think I would get tired of it after 8 years or so. That's roughly $500 a year for a $3000 piece of furniture. Versus paying $800 and keeping it for 3 or 4 years.

I'm a bit hesitant to get anything from Ashley furniture after searching online and finding all kinds of bad reviews. Apparently they really push the warranty on you bc they know somethmg will happen to it. Then they send someone out to "fix" or "repair" the furniture but it ends up being worse than before
