Nothing weird, I was wearing normal athletic clothes, no sunglasses or hats. And really, I want to prevent the dog from getting into my yard and killing me or my dog, not change my choice of clothing because of irresponsible pet ownership on my neighbors' part.
I didn't mean to imply you did anything wrong or need to make any changes in your choice of clothing - only trying to point out possible reasons the dog may have been acting aggressively.
Just a word of warning about pepper spray-especially the type used for bear protection, the dog would have to be near, 10-15' and you have to make certain the wind is blowing in the proper direction! If it is blowing back toward you, you will have a very, very bad day!!! Pepper spray for bears is extremely strong!!!! If it was me, I'd solve this problem at the root cause-----the owners!
