Maybe this will get us on another list?

This is quite possibly the most cringe-worthy Jeopardy fail of all time - Salon.com

I saw that earlier today. Both funny and disturbing!

It was a crappy clue, to be honest. I'm not sure what common law has to do with puberty. I think anyone would have been thrown by that one.

Also, the article is misleading:
Quote:
“What is … the age of consent,” he responded. Alex Trebek managed to mask his alarm, simply responding “No.” (And by that he meant, “nooooooooo.”)
Masking his alarm? HUH? He moved on. No pause, no reaction. He lingered a moment on the second answer, but I'm assuming he was looking to the judges to see if they would accept her answer or not.

Leave it to the internet to make a bigger deal out of something than it really is. Most cringe-worthy of all time? Hardly.

I don't think the clue was crappy.
The response was almost as funny as this one from the Newlywed game (first clip in the video):

There is a common law presumption regarding the onset of puberty? News to me. What is the legal purpose of this presumption?

You have every right to presume it was the age of consent. Acting on that presumption will bring about legal consequences.

Get over it. It's not like people haven't said stuff like this contestant by mistake. He had milliseconds to think about it and he blurted this thing out. Did he act on it?

Meanwhile, our music industry churns out lascivious crap and no one questions that.

Ok...so a stupid answer. Plenty of those. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Maybe the man doesn't even have kids and has no idea what kids do or when they do it. Worse case, I'd say his answer was somewhat ignorant.

I think it went viral because it's funny. Not because he's some kind of molester.
