Good point, saturnfan. Maybe it's the Kitt's Creek type of living which allows for ease of socialising these days. (I don't like that SD, though)
I think sometimes the rural can be romanticised, like it's idyllic, free from those crime, materialism, over scheduled kids, it makes for 'good values', etc. But so many times, I've read about parents in NC wanting to move away from the rural to keep their kids on track. As rural for them equates with a lot of time, nothing to do and that means 'trouble'.
