Tethered rides are $15.00 for kids and $20.00 for adults. The tethered rides are available at both the Raleigh and Zebulon sites, but there will be more balloons in Zebulon, so the wait will probably be shorter there. This is right across the street from where I work. It's a fun experience even if you don't go up. There will also be a glow event in which all the balloons are lit up against the darkening evening sky. It's very pretty. There will also be food tents and other distractions. Enjoy!

Does anyone know if the Zebulon location will be handicap accessible? My mother has always loved hot air balloons and if she could safely use her 3 wheel scooter, I'd love to take her!

I think I read somewhere that a balloon festival like this hasn't been in the area in 25 years.

make sure that the balloon is tethered or else we'll have to call the national media for a balloon boy chase!

Yes, a friend of mine was aboard that balloon. Clipped a power line while landing.

I'll never look at balloons the same again.

I don't think it's been that long, but maybe for the Wake county area. Hospice League of Burlington used to have a balloon fest every year, but I don't think they've had one since 2000 or so. It was a great day trip, with tethered balloon flights, helicopter and plane rides available and a small air show. Not sure why they stopped, but we've missed it.

That's the price for parking at Mudcat stadium and taking the shuttle. $30 on site parking.

There was something in reference to handicap issues. You can get a reduced pass but they said it's still a good distance to the site.

$30 just to park? Yikes. This is sounding more and more like a "view from afar" type event
