I am planning to visit the Cary Area next week with my family. We are trying to decide if we want to relocate to the area. I was hoping to have a meeting with someone in the Wake County Public Schools system regarding how they handle children with high functioning autism. Possibily visit a classroom or two?
The Autism society of NC offers parent advocates to help you in your transition. You would need to contact their local branch. http://www.autismsociety-nc.org/ . The parent advocates will also help you in implementing a new IEP for NC schools. They were very helpful to us when we moved to NC. Please feel fre to pm me with any additional questions.
