We are big fans of Blue Bell ice cream, despite the lack of management oversight and the largest ice cream recall in history.
I called the headquarters in Texas and learned that the Triangle is not on the reintroduction schedule. However, BB retains the lease on the Morrisville distribution center.
The customer service representative stated that it would be at least one year (perhaps longer) before we would again have BB in the Triangle area.
At some point, BB will be introduced to Charlotte and Asheville, but again no defined schedule.
Location: Sodo Sopa at The Villas above Kenny' s House.

Turkey Hill gelato line kicks the pants off any other grocery store bought ice cream. I'm addicted and I'm an ice cream snob. Much better then Blue Bell IMO.
I thought people died from consuming Listeria tainted Blue Bell ice cream? I can't believe anyone would even consider eating it after that.
Fresh ice cream on Glenwood. Local, tastes great, no questionable ingredients. Or I buy something at Whole Foods. When it comes to junk food I take the approach of eating the best I can get. It costs more so you don't want to eat as much, and it's better for you.
I'd still eat BB if it was available. After everything that happened I'd like to think they're being extra careful.
My thoughts as well. Everything in their factory will have been checked other with a fine tooth comb now. It's probably your safest bet for ice cream for awhile.

That's my logic when buying Talenti.

Assuming this is even true (I don't think the FDA has any "fine-tooth combs" left due to budget cuts), unless the entire management structure has been replaced, they'll be up to their old ways soon enough. Old dog, new tricks, etc.
