Got an email from them announcing their intent to shut down their operations.
I came to know of moveloot from this forum. And I used them when we moved to Raleigh last year. Sad to see it close.

I am looking for furniture and antiques and have not had any luck with 2 people in Raleigh on craigslist even bothering to respond to my emails. Are there any online local businesses or forums other than craigslist that sell furniture and other household goods online or by app?

Check out micit on facebook. They have a variety of things but I've seen furniture posted multiple times a day.

Alternatively check out the flea market on the weekend. You can find some great options there!

I was disappointed when MoveLoot changed their model. Instead of picking up the furniture you have for consignment and then listing it for you, they changed to listing and then picking up furniture as it sold. Definitely not helpful for someone looking to get furniture out of a house or apartment that is being vacated.

You can find things on Facebook under the name of North Raleigh/Buy/Sell/Trade - many listings each day

There are A TON of buy/sell/trade sites on FB. I belong to a dozen or so, and that's just some of the sites for Southern Wake. Many of them are furniture-specific.

There used to be a search function on FB that helped identify local groups. I can't seem to find it now.

Moveloot was never a sustainable model having to store furniture and compete with free sites like craigslist and facebook

We had Moveloot pick up our dining table but it never sold. I guess it was nice to get it out of the house. Part of the "issue" with their business is that you weren't able to come and pick up furniture that they had for sale. I saw a few nice pieces that I would've bought but the delivery fee was twice the cost of the actual furniture!
