Burrages was my go to place but it closed.
Sam Ash Music wants $80 for a cleaning which seems high to me,
but if that is the going rate I can use them.

Would appreciate suggestions.

Marsh Woodwinds downtown? I think they clean brass instruments too.

My old band director told me you could soak it in warm water in the bathtub (take the valves out first) and then get it with a snake. I don't think you really need to clean it too often. Just don't eat dinner and play at the same time.

This guy gives instructions: How to Clean Your Trumpet – Mark Flegg

These folks say it's not necessary: Trumpet Care Cleaning Maintenance

Does it need a chemical bath for complete overhaul? There's a place in Crossroads where my kids rented their instruments from when they did band. Can't remember the name. Check with them. Otherwise you can DIY like poppy dog said, just look for a video - I bathed (?) my son's trumpet once.

Thanks, I had forgotten about that place.
I don't want to DIY on this right now.

kids instrument is probably cheap and a starter one, Adults instrument is probably a bit more of an heirloom and warrant extra money and effort to maintain.

I didn't play they trumpet, but clarinet and difference between an adults and kids instrument was pretty distinct even down the materials it was constructed with. So where I might spend 80 bux to get my instrument services my kids I might DIY

A lot of kids don't take care of their instruments, chew gum while playing, etc. And as zinner noted kids' instruments are cheaper.

As an old trumpet player, friend of many musicians, and band leaders, I would say it's pretty much a rip-off and I wouldn't waste my money! Just nothing I ever did with my horns. I did snake 'em out and give 'em a bath once in awhile. It's not hard. Unless there's something really drastic going on then it's not really necessary, IMO.

My 40 yr old horn is still in great shape, BTW.

If you don't want to DIY, maybe give one of these guys a call: http://www.sweeneybrass.com/
