Hi,

We are moving down to the Raleigh area and looking for a good fit. We need to be within thirty minutes commuting distance to the North Hills area of Raleigh.

We are empty nesters, who enjoy meeting new people. We have a dog, so being close to a park would be great. We would prefer a walkable area. We don't have a real preference in terms of new or older construction. Because my husband is a volunteer firefighter, we would prefer to be in a town that has a volunteer firefighting company he could join. We don't have a specific budget, but would like to keep it below 600k if possible.

Thanks so much!

Why not just live in North Hills? Your budget would certainly allow for it. It's definitely walkable, near several parks. It has both new and old construction, but new is over $600k. North Hills also has great access to 440, shopping, dining, movies.

Definitely a possibility, but wasn't sure if we should be looking anywhere else. Does it have a "neighborhood" vibe to it?

the entire 27609 area is neighborhood, not subdivision.

What about Five Points? Convenient location to North Hills and downtown Raleigh and certainly has a neighborhood feel (very walkable and there are a few parks here as well as the Raleigh greenway system)

I think North Hills is nice neighborhood. It also has access to greenway, and if you have kids Brooks is a great elementary school.
