Exactly, and that's good. As I said, analogous to senior daycare centers, or retirement homes. Imagine if these seniors are living in a development surrounded by families with small kids where often times the adults are all having to work, and help kids with their homework, etcetera. The struggling senior is left to flounder. If the seniors are in these 55+ communities instead, it gives them extra support when they need it - just as you say. If they are resistant to moving to assisted living places as so many can be, at least they are living in the equivalent of the senior daycare center where they are more sheltered and receive more help.
The beauty of it is, the seniors are moving to these places all by themselves due to the clever marketing. In times past it was very difficult to have them move to a retirement home or attend senior daycare, let alone move to an assisted living place. I regard this as a win-win.
