Can anyone share any information on this place? How long has it been closed? For those that don't know it is on the corner of Hwy 55 & Carpenter Firestation.

It must be closed for at least twelve years, maybe more. When hw 55 was widened they had to take out the gas pumps. I used to tapes for my vcr there.

I have assumed it has been a while since there are trees growing on the roof.

The present owners acquired the property in 2011. I think the Edwards store closed at that time.

The tax roll picture from 2011 looks like it was closed then too. I am guessing that the present owners are the 3 heirs listed from the will/deed. The square footage of the building is larger than it looks. >6600

You can see a picture of the gas pumps in 1996:

I thought all or a large portion of the building was going to get wacked when they realigned the intersection of 55 and Carpenter Fire Station. May be wrong though.

I've always wondered about that place.

Completely unrelated, but I always enjoy when people get stuck on that enormous curb at the gas station across the street:

We're talking about the former Amoco, right? I didn't know that place was closed for over a decade.

I believe the Marathon across the street was a Texaco as well.

By late 2000 I drove by there regularly and there were no gas pumps and the place was closed.
