Dog sitting for two large dogs overnight, 4 walks a day and feeding twice a day. From 1 pm on a Thursday to 5 pm on Saturday...what should I be paid. It is in their home.
I pay a student $50/night to stay in my house but "pro" pet sitters are in the $75-$100 range and that usually doesn't include additional walks during the day. I have my regular midday dog walker come by if needed, so they aren't required to come back between classes. I have a fenced yard so there aren't a specific number of walks needed.
It wasn't here in NC but I used to pay $50 a day and then it went up to $60 a day. Two large dogs, staying at my house, no walks because I didn't want to take the risk, two meals a day, and lots of love and petting.
Every day that she was in my home counted, so even if she was only there until lunchtime on Sunday, I paid the full day.
Also make sure they don't expect special care like ear cleaning or administering medicine.
If you want to extend this into a more regular gig, offer different pricing for short non-overnight visits too, to walk them or feed them. I had two sitters, and my short-visit sitter charged by time spent. 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour. I had a dog with separation anxiety so I'd have her stay longer than a normal visit necessitated.
Lastly, if you do this, get their vet's information and also their preferred emergency vet just in case. Put it in your phone so you're not scrambling for it at the time. Decide what they want you to do with care and $ if their dog gets hurt.
