I swear that when I was a kid in the late 1980s, a recall going to a putt-putt golf place that was off Wake Forest Road/Hodges Street/Paula Street. Sort of tucked back where Raleigh Center Ice is now located. Am I hallucinating this?

Nah. You remember correctly. I loved playing out there.

There was one on Capital. It was renamed Adventure Landing years ago. Probably the owner decided the franchise fees weren't worth paying.

It was called Jungle Golf and was about right here.

I used to go there with my girlfriend all the time in the late 80s early 90s. They had a small go-kart track back there at one point too, IIRC.

There is a Putt Putt in Burlington that is really really well run that holds a bunch of the championship matches. If you ever get a hankering for it go check it out. Owner is a great guy.

Putt Putt. Its an actual Putt Putt. Brian Patterson is the owner...went from working there as a teenager to buying it and running it. Really runs it the way a business should be run.

May you live to be a thousand years old. So glad to know that the memory was real. Weird that all evidence seems to be completely gone. I remember going there on daycare field trips, as well as that to that hideous yellow building nearby. I think back then it was called The Deck? I don’t know if it was a night club back then or what, but my daycare totally used to go there on field trips and we’d all just run around inside. Bizarre.

It was called The Deck. They had a side hustle going where they opened it to daycares in summer and showed movies, let kids dance, eat pizza, and generally goof off.

In high school, I worked one year for a daycare and we took the kids there in summer.
