What is the deal with multiple offers situation? If a house gets multiple offers does that mean that all those offers are over the asking price? What is the chance all of them to be under asking price? And when you put an offer in this situation how much over the asking price you should put to get the house based on your expirience?

Have you already signed on with a buyer's agent? If you have then they should be helping you with all of this and and answering all of these questions you've had.

If you haven't started working with a buyer's agent yet then you REALLY should.

If it’s a new listing with multiple offers, I’d count on some of them being over. It’s impossible to tell you how much over to offer with no knowledge of the specific listing. Like someone else said, the buyers agent should provide the guidance you need.

I just picked up a home, for a client, for $19,000 under asking price. Just because a house has multiple offers doesn't mean there over asking price. It all depends on the house and the local market conditions.
As others have said- get an experienced Buyer's Agent.

Are you in Raleigh NC? Or you are in Bloomington MN? I just noticed that your profile location is Bloomington MN? Me and my family recently moved to the Triangle Area from Edina MN...We had to sell our MN house for under the asking price too, market is not that great any longer in MN, prices started going down per my experience...Raleigh NC market is very different than the market in MN...

Their client is also in Minnesota.

EDIT... I see you already caught that. haha

Yeah 19k under asking in a multiple-offer situation ain't happening in the Triangle.

If something sells for 19k below list price it's because it was over-priced by $19k.
