I checked Prestonwood site and golf dues $575 a month!? Even if it were 20% more, I'd still be way ahead. Cart fees only $20- that is a fraction of what I pay up here.
Initiation fees are north of 50k I believe. Not sure how typical that is.

As of 2018, for a full golf membership (which includes all other activities - tennis, swim, etc.), the non-refundable membership initiation fee was $26,500. I don't think this amount has varied much over the last 10 years. They do offer a non-refundable initiation fee too, which is understandably higher.

And, the refundable is in the $40,000--$45,000 range.
It can take a while to get the refund, and the membership folks fairly actively discourage that purchase for that reason.

Agreed. I didn't know there was even a refundable option until very recently.

The director of membership got back to me today and it is $20k non refundable (20% discount or $16k if paid in full, i.e. not financed) and $40k refundable. Dues for golf $595 per month.

I'm actually shocked that they're that reasonable. Not bad at all.
