Hi, everyone. So my first real trip to Raleigh is only a month away, and I'm very excited! The purpose of our visit is primarily to get a feel for the area and see if it would be as nice a place to live as it sounds like. I'm doing my own research, of course, but I was interested if anyone had suggestions for things to see/do while we're there. It's only for a 4-day weekend, and we would probably be mostly in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. I'm looking for restaurants, bars, shopping, tourist stuff, but also events, cool apartments, interesting sights, cultural stuff, or really whatever. Thanks very much!

One of my favorite places is Duke Gardens. I would put it on your list for sure.

There are a couple of good websites that may give you some ideas. Try newcomer.com or visitnc.com and northcarolinatravels.com.

If you get a chance, eat at the Angus Barn.
