My husband and I flew up for the job fair this past weekend and left without contracts. It was really disapointing for us. We will not give up hope though. I didn't hear of too many people being offered contracts. Hopefully, a few got lucky. Who knows, maybe it is the sign of the times.
I am sorry to hear that you left there without contracts. It is discouraging, but I'm sure you will find something soon... How did you find out about fairs like this? My wife is finishing up her masters degree (special education) this fall and we are trying to move up to Raleigh from florida at that time.

Wake county job fair was held this past weekend. If you go to their website you will find all the information - that's how I heard about it - but I don't have anything but a Bachelors and none in childhood education so I guess I can't be a teacher without more schooling and that's just not in the budget at the time.
Contracts for employment may be offered on site to select applicants.
So don't give up hope - there was no guarantee of contracts being offered - so you may still be offered a job.

My experience there last year was that the only ones offered contracts on the spot were those who are certified in hard to fill positions -- special ed., mostly. As one who was offered a contract a month later, I advise you not to get discouraged! Keep in touch w/ those with whom you made contact, and something could very well develop.
I was offered 3 jobs bout 3 weeks AFTER the Johnston County job fair last year..
So don't be too discouraged
