Hi,
I'm not an actor, but I'm intrigued by the idea of being a movie extra. I looked around for information about the film industry in the Triangle, but there's nothing about signing up for extra work. Anyone have any suggestions other than checking out craigslist?
Thanks!

Try Indeed.com They sometimes have it listed or just go get made up and show up at a movie set screaming out lines from famous movies.
North Carolina ranks 3rd in the nation in film production.
Yes--Bull Durham, anyone? Also Patch Adams was made in Chapel Hill a few years ago, and I myself was an extra in The Handmaid's Tale, filmed in Durham, Raleigh, and the mountains, in 1989. Tons of others, as shown by that link.
As far as how I got that "gig"--at the time, they set up shop in local shopping malls and took applications, but usually it's not so blatant, and done through agents.
I stand corrected - coming from LA I know plenty of "career extras" and their work depends on the fact that they have multiple chances every day to go to an extras casting call...
