Hello!
I have a daughter who is a rising 5th grader in Cary. She wants to go to Martin or Moore Square Middle. Being on the magnet path, it will give better chance so we are considering one year at Poe elementary.

If you have experienced Poe, how do you like it? Are the 5th grade teachers nice? My DD has diverse interests and their choice of electives sound great. School orchestra at elementary seems wonderful. She wants to be in AIG so hopefully she will be identified through the process.

Could you share your experience with Martin or Moore Square middle? I love Moore Square is a smaller school, and choice of electives at Martin is so attractive. How bad is the commute? My DD will have hard time catching the bus at 6:30 in the morning. I can give her a ride in the morning but she will have to ride the bus home. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Jane, I have "reported" your post so that hopefully it will get moved to the Raleigh forum.

Martin is a great school. It is of course much closer to Cary. I know many people at Martin, both base (which is a generally high socio-economic/education group) and magnet. The people I know at Moore Square all like it a lot.
