I've Clayton mentioned as part of the 540 completion project but I don't see it. The extension looks like it will hit Garner on 70 Near Timber Dr, but not Clayton. Am I missing something? Will any path between Clayton and Knightdale be created?

Maybe the OP is referring to the defunct "red" alternative route. I think, if on the west side of Clayton with a connection to either 70, travel to Knightdale wouldn't be too bad via the new NC540 section.
