I apologize in advance if this sounds snobby, but I'm wondering if anyone has any input about the apartment complexes near Delta Ridge in Raleigh. I absolutely love some of the homes on the market there, but I wonder if/how the apartments affect crime and/or resale in the subdivision.

Thanks!

I recently showed some townhouses in Delta Ridge but my client decided she'd rather be in another neighborhood; however, while we were looking, a few of the townhouses sold quickly so it doesn't appear that they stay on the market very long.

I know someone who lives there and he really likes it -- somewhere in the area where there are townhomes with garages towards the back. I think there are parts of that property that are surrounded by Umstead Park which means no building in the future. In fact, I believe his block had Umstead property directly behind.

I was only there once, but remember the spectacular views from some of the areas of Delta Ridge property. It was around sunset.

The apartments I saw driving through didn't make a bad impression on me because the Delta Ridge area is not exactly right next to it. The location is really nice, too, for convenience to shopping and highways.

Best,
toodie

Smile I live at Glenwood North

and consider the Delta Ridge area the best location in the Triangle. Close to restaurants, shopping, state park, etc. Crime is not an issue in area. In fact, I feel safe walking alone at night, as there is always others out as well.
BTW, Glenwood North abuts Delta Ridge.

I love Delta Ridge! I've lived here for two years now and it's been wonderful. Neighbors are friendly without being nosy, people are always out walking dogs and jogging, and it's peaceful and quiet.

Unfortunately, due to a divorce, I'm having to sell my beloved home and I'm sad to think of leaving this wonderful neighborhood. I'm considering getting a townhome in the neighborhood.

As for the Ft. Bragg question, I would NOT recommend that commute. I've had to do it a few times since I work in the defense industry, and it was fine, but not something I'd want to do on a daily basis.

Traffic wasn't bad because you're going opposite the general rush hour traffic on the Beltline, but it's still long. It generally took me about an hour and a half, give or take.
(please tell your husband thank you for his service, and thank you for your sacrifices as well )

Delta ridge is pretty nice and its true about the views...you can see planes landing and taking off without hearing them. One of the view places in Raleigh where you can have some semblance of a view (even if it is all trees).

I had purchased a townhome there with a view years ago..actually the last one on the market when it was built, but had to back out of the deal, since my other home had not sold and I really didn't feel like going through with the moving process anyway.

Definitely a safe area. Nothing to worry about there. Convenient too and backs up to Umstead.
