We put our home on the market two weeks expecting that it could take months to sell it here on Long Island and to our great surprise the contracts are now in the mail, with a move date of on or about Sept. 15th.
So now reality is setting in, though we have seen lots of great homes and neighborhoods we like we don't think rushing into buying a home right away makes sense.
We think we like Green Hope, Panther and Apex as High Schools, our children range from elementary to high school ages, so all base schools matter.
We will need to rent at least a three bed room for 6 months to 1 year, and were hoping you'll could offer some advice on not only where to look to rent within those school assignments, but were hoping you might share any experiences you may have had with those schools.
I dont know how to spell check ... but it's YA'll and I don't know those areas at all or I'd be glad to help. All I will say is that it WILL work out and you will be thrilled that you are here.
Wake County Public School System is the site to register your kids, but I think you have to have a base address first? You'll be fine, take lots of deep breaths, starting here was a great idea!
They actually just opened up a new rental community across the street from Panther Creek High School. It's called the Alexan at Panther Creek. We stayed in corporate housing in their other location (Brier Creek) and we really liked it. I'd suggest looking there.
I think you'll find it difficult to find a single family house to rent for 6 months. We were able to tho. We offerred the owner more $$ per month for a shorter lease.
Block & Associates have a ton of nice rentals. Definitely check Craigslist as another poster mentioned. Also Realtor.com has a feature to search for rentals.
Good luck! I think the schools you mentioned are good, but have no first hand experience.
we looked on realtor.com and were able to find a 6 month lease on a house, but it is not common
